George Tannenbaum was kind enough to share this documentary with his large audience of readers, and I can think of no better public service to fellow sufferers in adland than to post it again.
As you’ll see, this is a tale of humor, humanity, and humility, with useful sidebars on storytelling and simplicity, but—and this is a massive but—always delivered with singular warmth (and yes, that even applies to the fabulously classic Guardian ad contained herein).
This will take you about 30 minutes to watch—hardly TikTok length. But if you’re interested in creativity, advertising, or just a better way to communicate, it’ll be the best half hour you’ll spend on anything this week. Or maybe this year, for that matter. I’ve watched it twice.
